Our certified, experienced instructors are well-versed in training firearms students. We can train you whether you are an absolute novice who has never handled or shot a firearm to advanced shooters who wish to improve certain skills or coach specific areas of the shooting disciplines.

Meet Kyle Dau

Kyle Dau brings extensive expertise to the Discount Gun Mart training team. With a strong background in both civilian and law enforcement firearms instruction, Kyle is a highly credentialed and respected educator in the shooting community.

Kyle is passionate about firearms training and continues to stay at the forefront of the industry by integrating new techniques and instructional methods. His depth of knowledge and hands-on approach make him a valuable resource for students of all skill levels.

Kyle conducts training primarily at our San Diego (Morena Blvd) DGM Complex. His regular training hours are Sunday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. He is not available on Wednesdays or Saturdays.

Mark Hamersly is a retired federal officer with a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice and over 39 years of experience in military, law enforcement, and civilian firearms instruction. His strong commitment to firearm safety and instructional excellence makes him uniquely qualified to teach students of all ages and backgrounds.

Private instruction is available at the Santee Range (Magnolia Avenue location)

Patrick Lovette is a highly qualified firearms instructor who brings extensive military and civilian experience to his role. He currently supports classroom instruction at the DGM San Diego Complex (Morena Blvd location).

Alisha Curtin specializes in training both new and experienced shooters across all firearm platforms—including pistol, shotgun, and rifle. Her approachable and professional teaching style ensures that men, women, and youth alike feel confident while learning safe and effective firearms handling.

A proud law enforcement wife and passionate advocate for Second Amendment rights, Alisha brings a strong sense of purpose to every training session.

Group and private instruction are available by appointment.
